Cloud Symbol ☁

The cloud symbol represents cloudy or overcast weather. It is used in forecasts, weather widgets and casual messages, and by extension it is often used to mean cloud storage or online services. Many devices show it as a cloud emoji. It pairs well with the sun and umbrella symbols in plain-text forecasts, where each day gets its own compact weather icon.

How to type ☁

Windows

Press Win + . to open the emoji panel, then type “cloud”.
In Microsoft Word or Outlook: type 2601 then press Alt + X.
Open Character Map (search “Character Map” in Start), tick “Advanced view”, search for “cloud”, then Select and Copy.

Mac

Press Control + Command + Space to open the Character Viewer, search “cloud”, and double-click the result.
With the Unicode Hex Input keyboard enabled (System Settings → Keyboard → Input Sources), hold Option and type 2601.

iPhone & Android

Tip: If it appears as a color emoji and you need a plain glyph, choose a font that includes it or use your app's text presentation option.

Display: the character itself is always the same code point, but its shape comes from the font on the device showing it. If you see an empty box, the font lacks this glyph—the text is still correct.
