Scissors ✂

The black scissors symbol is used to mark a cut line on coupons, forms and printouts, and more generally to represent cutting, trimming or haircuts. It appears in printable templates, salon listings and craft instructions, and some devices show it as an emoji. The dashed line after it tells readers exactly where to cut.

Good to know

Don’t mix it up: It is similar to ✄ (U+2704, WHITE SCISSORS), an outlined version.

Display: the character itself is always the same code point, but its shape comes from the font on the device showing it. If you see an empty box, the font lacks this glyph—the text is still correct.
