Latin Capital Letter E with Circumflex Ê
Capital E with circumflex is the uppercase form of ê. It occurs in French, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Welsh, and Afrikaans, generally at the start of names or in all-caps text. In French the circumflex frequently marks a vanished 's', as in 'ÊTRE', from older 'estre', and it appears in place names and headings.
